Bridlewayz – Terms of Service
Effective date: 14 January 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your use of the Bridlewayz application and related services (the "App"), and to our website at bridlewayz.com (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. About Bridlewayz
Bridlewayz helps you discover, view and plan routes on the UK's bridleways and related rights of way. The Services may include maps, route information, photos, descriptions and community contributions.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old and able to form a legally binding contract to use the Services. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent's or guardian's permission to use the Services.
If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity on your account. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting us. When you delete your account, your user content (including recorded routes) will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Services. For example, you must not:
- break any applicable law or regulation;
- interfere with, disrupt, damage, or access without authorisation any part of the Services;
- attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code except where permitted by law;
- upload or share content that is unlawful, harmful, harassing, defamatory, or infringes another person's rights;
- scrape, harvest, or bulk-download data except where we expressly allow it;
- use the Services to send spam or unsolicited messages.
4. User content and contributions
If you submit content (for example: route notes, photos, comments, or reports), you confirm you have the right to do so and that your content complies with these Terms. You grant Bridlewayz a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, modify (for formatting and display), publish, and display that content as needed to operate and improve the Services.
We may remove or restrict access to content at any time if we reasonably believe it violates these Terms or could cause harm.
5. Mapping, routes, and safety
Route and access information can change (closures, diversions, private land, seasonal restrictions, surface conditions, weather, livestock, etc.). You are responsible for planning your activities, checking local signage and authoritative sources, and acting safely. Do not rely on the Services as the sole source of navigation or safety information.
6. Third-party services and links
The Services may include third-party components (for example: map providers, analytics, or links to external sites). We do not control third-party services and are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. Your use of third-party services may be subject to their terms and policies.
7. Intellectual property
The Services, including our branding, software and original content, are owned by Bridlewayz (or our licensors) and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Services for your own non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.
8. Changes, availability, and termination
We may update the Services or these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes to these Terms by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Effective date" at the top. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
We may suspend or terminate access to the Services (or parts of them) if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, or to protect the Services and users. You may stop using the Services at any time by deleting your account or uninstalling the app.
9. Disclaimers
The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that route, mapping, or access information will be accurate, complete, or up to date. Nothing in these Terms affects any statutory rights you cannot waive.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bridlewayz will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Services. We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so (for example, for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence).
11. Privacy
Please read our Privacy Policy to understand how we process personal data.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts in England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Services.
